Music Video Outlets

Mainstream TV
Mainsream TV is useful to the audience as it is free for the audience to watch. An example of a Mainstream TV channel would be Channel 4 'Freshly Squeezed' here they talk about music and music videos and show one video each day. They also have a big audience who are interested in to different genres of music. The negative side of showing music videos on Mainstream TV is the video can only be played once and it's hard to replay unless you can record/fast forward or rewind. The audience particually might not like the music or music video being shown and there are not many Mainstream TV programs.

Music Channels
Music Channels are very useful to the audience and show a variety of music genres and music videos. These are useful to the audience as there are different programs for different genres so the audience can watch and listen to the type of music they want. An example of Music channels are MTV, KISS, VIVA and MTV Base. Another good reason for music channels is the music videos are shown when the music video is released. Also puts the artist in a music category so its easier for the audience to find the artist.
The negative side of having music channels is top chart songs are over-played and gets annoying. This is bad for the audience as they won't watch the music channel as much they would and also bad for the company as they have less viewers. For some people who may like a particualr song and can't rewind/fast forward or rewind, they replay the music video and only view it once. The last reason is some people can't afford the channel or may not have it, meaning less audience.

Direct CD/Specail Edition CD/DVD Releases
CD's and DVD's are useful to the audience as they have extra bonus features which we haven't seen before. With extra features and bonuses you get more than you payed for and you can only see this by getting the CD/DVD. Also you can replay the CD/DVD as many times as you want as a CD player or DVD player can be replayed also you can rewind the CD/DVD quicker than e.g. the internet as internet may buffer and you can select the speed of the rewind or fast forward. Another positive reason of CD/DVD is you can play in a high quality and is much sharper than other devices.
The disadvantages of getting a CD/DVD is it costs and you have to pay for it. Most people now download but this is illegal. The CD/DVD might only have one song the audience likes or it is a single which only has one song. Also you have to wait for the release dates where on the internet it is leaked and can be downloaded before the release date. 

Streaming Websites
Streaming websites are good and useful as you can easily replay or fast-forward the video you are watching. An example of a streaming website would be YouTube. With TV you can't forward as it is being played but with 'YouTube' you can forward to any specific point without waiting for that part. It's very easy to share to others and friends by using the link, or social networking sites which you can share within a click. It is very fast and easy to share, also you can comment about the video's. Another positive side is you can find unknown artists which are not shown on music channels. This is useful to people who can't find their artist or if their artist is not shown on TV channels.
The disadvantage of streaming sites is sometimes it is legal and sometime illegal as you can easily download other peoples video's and upload them yourself or simply keep it for yourself. Another thing is artists don't make as much money as people download or just view the video instead of buying a CD/DVD. Easy for the audience as they don't have to pay for something that is free to them. Another disadvantage to the audience is Ad's popping up during the video which can be annoying and ruins the video.

Artists Websites
Artists Websites are good for the artist as they can sell other products e.g. T-shirts, posters, key rings etc. This is good for the artist as they make more money and fans will buy them. Also artists update events and other stuff showing fans and the audience what they get up to. An example of Artists who have a website is Tinie Tempah, Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa etc. On the website you can see the artist and read more about them.
The disadvantages of Artist Website is there is limited people and audience and the artist won't make as much money from their products. Also the video's on the website can't be shared so it's bad for the artist as they will have less views and for the audience as they can't share it. Also people make fake artist websites so it is hard to find the real artist website.

Downloads
The good thing about downloading videos/music is it is free and easy to download. You don't have to pay for songs or video's and can be downloaded on many websites such as iM1music.net and piratebay. Here you can download many things for free and download them before their release date. Another advantage of downloading is it is easy to download and very quick. Another thing is they could have a download chart showing the latest downloads/top downloads. 
This disadvantage of downloading is it is bad for the artist, losing money as not many people are buying their music. Also it is illegal to download music from the internet unless buying from a website. Another disadvantage is some files have viruses and can effect you computer. Also takes up memory to download and if bought on a CD/DVD it does not take up memory.
