Production Log- Weekly blog 8

This week we got more shots in and edited more, we managed to put about half of the footage in and it all being edited. We did film this week and filmed on Tuesday the 14th for some extra footage as we were missing a crutial part of the video which was the drums. The video looked odd as it did not have the drums which you can hear in the song and so we filmed after school, I played the drummer as it was short notice. We managed to upload the footage after and came in the next morning to edit the last scenes. We managed to finish the music video and also we put the drum scenes in which made the video better as a whole and also made the video much longer, as we had almost a 5 minute video. Overall this week we worked hard to get the drum scenes done last minute and also we used our time valuably by using lunch times, coming in early in the morning to edit and also after school.

Production Log-Week 7

This week we finished filming our drama hall scenes and we edited them and also spaced them out through the song so we can see where the other shots can go. We started editing our clips and when we received feedback we found that the shots where cutting to late and were lasting to long. We went back and started editing the shots which were lasting to long and cutting them to the beat to make the video look more interesting as before it was slow and boring. 
We also have to film the house scenes which we did some this week. We got shots showing how the relationship breaks up between the couple and we did this many times to get good clear shots that we can re-use.

Next Week-
Next week we will continue to edit and also we will see if there is anything missing which we could re-film on the weekend or on the following monday. From monday we cannot film as it is close to our deadline and want to use the time correctly and only for editing.

Production Log-Week 6

This week during half-term we did not manage to film our music video or any scenes due to the cast not participating and at last minute they dropped out and decided not to do the film. This left us stuck and we could not find any last minute as the people we knew did not want to film during half term as they had other plans. We have more time to film so we will have to re-cast and create our scenes quickly as we are coming into our editing time. Next week we should be able to film the scenes we wanted to which were continue filming in the drama hall, filming the parts we did not do, and also we can film on the weekend. Mainly this week we have been editing the shots we do have which are the drama scenes and we can work on perfecting these.


Next Week-
We will be re-casting the cast we were going to use for the male and female character as they dropped out and also we will have completed the drama hall scenes and also done most of the house/flat scenes which need to be done outside of school. Next week we will also be mainly editing the shots and most of the music video will fit together.

Production log-Week 5

This week me and my partner have managed to complete all of the planning tasks and we have started filming this week. We gained permission from the Head of Drama (Mr.Taylor) to use the drama hall to film a specific scene for our music video. We would have been filming earlier but due to the permission for the Drama hall, we fell behind as we had difficulty finding the head of drama.

Also this week we realised we also needed the instruments from the music department for the drama scene. So I created another permission slip for the music department asking if we can use their instruments which are an electric x2 electric guitars, a bass, drum set and a microphone with a stand. These are important props we need to represent the band and we will be needing these to make our music video more effective and this will represent our story better.

Another task we completed this week was the Waiver cast. We had these signed by our cast during week 4 but we did not have much time to upload these to our blogs. This issue also caused us to fall behind of our filming time and we will have to film during the half term. We were planning to film during the half term as two of our cast members are free and can film any day.

Filming

This week we managed to film our scenes in the drama hall. We did not manage to film all the scenes in the drama hall as we only had up to an hour in the drama hall and also we were delayed as it took about 15-20 minutes to organize and set up the equipment for the scene. I managed to get a few good shots in the time we had to film but will need to finish the scenes in the drama hall another day. 
Our next filming will be during the half term and we should be able to finish and continue with the other scenes we need to film.
